Artist

Sean M. Monaghan has been creating artwork since childhood and earned his Bachelor of Arts degree at University California at Santa Cruz in 1983. He and owned and operated Donatello’s Gelato cafe on Pacific Avenue in Santa Cruz from 1983 until the Loma Prieta Earthquake in 1989.  Sean established the Bronze Works foundry in 1992, specializing in casting sculpture in bronze. In 2000 Sean earned his MFA in Spatial Arts from San Jose State University, and he currently teaches sculpture at UCSC and Cabrillo College while operating the Bronze Works foundry and creating original artwork around the local and wider community.
